Wrap me in a veil of clouds...

Wrap me in a veil of clouds lost among the firs, where their branches hold one another close.

Where a bird’s song gets caught in the dense needles. Where the wind wanders, unable to find its way. Where a lone owl’s hoot tumbles down the empty mountain slope…

Wrap me in a veil of clouds—so lonely, so lost within the falling mist. Where the blanket of clouds, snagged on a mountaintop, burns my weary soul with its cold gaze.

Wrap me in a veil of clouds, on this forgotten hillside, as I search for an untrodden path to the valley of peace.

Wrap me—and smooth my damp hair that flutters in the song of the wind. Stroke my head gently. Perhaps then I’ll dare to lift my eyes to the grandeur the universe has shaped for beauty and bliss—the grandeur I keep seeking on this slope, stuck somewhere outside the reach of time.

Wrap me in a veil of clouds, as I walk the uncharted path toward the unknown—the unknown I create with each step I take, opening before me without doors, without windows, only glimpses into the rippling depths of my soul.

Wrap me in a veil of clouds and warm this heart of mine—stiffened by human words, by grief that refuses to be left behind. Light me a lantern to guide me toward the valley where I lose and find myself anew—where I drown, sink, and rise again; where I am remade, piece by piece, until I feel safe behind the strong walls of home.

Wrap me in a veil of clouds, and send a melody—one that pierces the heart and rekindles the echo of days long gone.

Wrap me in a veil of clouds… and simply let me rest—against your body, your heartbeat,

your thoughts, your silent words.

Wrap me in a veil of clouds… and say nothing.

Just wrap me.
